Carbotics not connecting to Lexus NX450H

Volvo XC40 Compatibilty

Hi there. I bought a Carplay2Droid-4G device and it doesn't work with my Volvo XC 40 (MY2020), despite the fact that my car is officially one of the 600 models compatible with carbotics. When I plug in the carbotics device to my USB port, it is discoverable as an apple device, but the initial menu never loads. I waited for more than 10 minutes without a result. I have tested it with my car's Bluetooth on/off, with or without a sim card, but nothing changes.

Note that when I tested the same Carplay2Droid-4G device with my friend's Peugeot 3008, it worked fine. No more than a minute was needed to load the start menu.

Any ideas, please? Does any member has the same car? Do I need to do something special to fix this problem?

Voice assistant disables steering wheel music controls

Steps to reproduce 1. Trigger voice assistant using steering wheel voice button 2. Say something like "Play my spotify playlist called houses" 3. Assistant correctly opens spotify and plays the songs 4. After that steering wheel music controls (next/prev songs) are not working

Je viens de recevoir mon carbotics que je Connecte sur mon enyaq Skoda
Le Multi-Touch présente des fois des soucis: exemple sur YouTube quand je veux faire une recherche je tape une lettre et ça recherche automatiquement sans que je puisse faire autre chose.
J’ai essayer de mettre a jour le firmware et de faire des hard reset mais rien y change.
Y a t’il une solution ?

I just received my carbotics which I connect to my Skoda enyaq

The Multi-Touch sometimes presents problems: example on YouTube when I want to do a search I type a letter and it searches automatically without me being able to do anything else.

I tried to update the firmware and do a hard reset but nothing changed.

Google apps switch audio to call speaker

Morning carbotics team. Sometimes whenever i use a google app (voice assistant, maps etc) it routes the audio to the car's phone call speaker. For example when using navigation or using voice assistant it will route the audio to the call speaker instead of the default music speaker. This is frustrating because playing music while navigating sounds really bad. As soon as you exit the navigation the audio goes back to normal speaker. Any idea how to fix this?

Good morning. Just got my Carplay 2 droid 4g. the unit connects just fine and i can view the ui perfectly fine.
However the touch does not work correctly. I cant touch any app at its location and the touch registers elsewhere.
Is there any way to reset the device or something? I cant even access its settings.
My cars screen works perfectly fine with the default OS as well as with the AAWireless adapter

Procedure to upgrade:

1. Download the correct firmware from the links above to your computer

Note (before somebody asks): Yes, if your CarBotics runs well and you are close to an open WLAN network you might download the file directly onto your CarBotics unit. But don't forget to move/copy this file to your SD card (see step 2) before you restart your CarBotics. Proceed with step 4

2. Copy the file update.zip or APM888.zip to the root of your SD card (the SD card should be formatted in FAT32)

3. Insert this card into CarBotics and connect CarBotics to your car.

4. Switch on Auxiliary or Ignition (power on). CarBotics will start, will see the update.zip or APM888.zip and will prompt you if it should install. Answer yes and the procedure will start.

Note: Be sure ignition (auxiliary power) isn't switched off during the installation. During update CarBotics will probably reboot several times, just be patient and let the updater do it's work. After approx. 10 to max. 15 minutes CarBotics will be ready and you can enjoy the updated system.

In any case, if you run into any trouble please let the forum know what you did (or did not do) and we will try to get your system up and running again.

Salve, mi è arrivato appena il carbotics, collegandolo alla mia 3008 Peugeot, appare con una risoluzione sbagliata. Ho fatto diversi tentativi ma senza successo.

How to connect OBD2 / running Torque

Short instructions:

- install Torque Pro (if you want to run own PIDs).

- Disconnect and reconnect your OBD2 dongle (avoid other connections to the OBD2 dongle).

- start your head unit / Carbotics with ignition switched on.

- start Settings on Carbotics, goto Bluetooth Settings and establish connection to your OBD2 dongle.

- if this works out of the box goto next main step.

- if your Carbotics does not "see" OBD2 dongle install Bluetooth Pair ( https://goo.gl/DVCHXn ), "Set Device Visible" and run "BLE Scan" (be patient).

- if it still fails install "Force Pair", set the PIN for your OBD2 (usually 0000 or 1234) and connect.

- now start Torque, goto Settings - OBD2 Adapter Settings and choose your adapter.

- Torque should now work for you. Please be sure Carbotics is the only hardware "grabbing" OBD2 dongle connection.
